Bathtime at Baz’s…. plan B!
Well I woke this morning to a rather unpleasant surprise in the kitchen… water running down the wall! Because of the time of year and the weather recently, I just assumed I had a burst pipe or the boiler pipe had frozen up, but what I actually found was my bath had somehow moved and was no longer creating a tight seal to the wall. I pondered the option of just bunging lots of gunk around the edge to reseal it in, but then decided that if i was going to do it, I’d do it properly and whilst I was at it, I’d also put a new bathroom suite in and some bathroom storage.
Michael Jackson dies – and Fox News advertising is less than sympathetic!
Well, yesterday was a sad day for music, as the King of Pop Michael Jackson died. Despite his murky past, nobody can deny his musical and dancing abilities and of course his unique way of drawing a crowd.
However, following his untimely death, it seems Fox News decided to continue run ads across their MJ tribute page, albeit unmonitored. And when this happens, you can always guarantee an ad which is in bad taste, such as this one below.. surely somebody at Fox can see it’s somewhat tactless? (Clearly the advertiser needs to check their spelling too!)
John Lochrie – Galashiels
John Lochrie was born in Galashiels, Scotland, March 18, 1861, the son of Neil Lochrie and Janet Provan.
His father was a coal miner and was working down the mines even before he was 10 years of age. Working as a trapper boy, his job consisted of controlling the ventilation doors to the mines. John Lochrie’s job was very important as the door he controlled essentially was the last step that the workers had, if there was a gas explosion down the mines in Galashiels. Keeping the door shut for the maximum time possible was the aim of the game.
Matt Cutts of Google gets hacked
Seems nobody is immune to being hacked. Even Matt Cutts, Google’s SEO blogger and spam engineer.
This morning, it appears his blog site has been taken over by the “Dark SEO Team”. I wouldnt hold out much hope for their site ranking very well in the next few months!
Maggots in your dustbin
I couldnt help but notice that during the warmer months of this year, people were complaining repeatedly about the fact our dustbins only get emptied once a fortnight. Why were they complaining? Because maggots were appearing in bins all across the borough!
Of course, the local council would have us believe that recycling is a great idea and that it will save the planet and we all live happily ever after. To a point, I agree. Recycling is a fantastic idea and we should all do our bit to contribute, but not at the expense of our health. If maggots are lying around in our dustbins, then its hardly hygienic is it? So why do they insist on emptying the dustbins once a fortnight when this clearly isnt sufficient during warmer months?
Council inefficiency at our expense
What starts out as a small job always seems to turn into mission impossible. What began as a 5 hour job, turned into over 10 weeks. Yes, thats correct TEN WEEKS!… and it still hasnt been fully resolved.
This story reads like a book of excuses, arrogance, ignorance and one person not communicating with another person correctly. The left hand truly doesnt know what the right hand is doing.
Picture Loans TV Advert – What a joke!
You must have seen the advert on TV for a company called Picture Loans. Its an absolute joke! They try to use simple psychology to glorify the process of getting yourself into debt with a loan.
It starts by showing a scene of domestic bliss. A housewife pottering around tidying up after the kids etc, then sitting down and picking up the phone to call Picture, then discussing a £25,000 loan as if she is ordering a loaf of bread.
Black speak
Throw away your dictionary, toss out your thesaurus and abandon all traces of the English language as we know it. We are being invaded by a new, cool language that is sweeping the nation, and its not just limited to kids! Thats right, idiots can catch it too!
Whats with all this black speak nonesense? “aiiiightt”, “wit”, “bro”, “ho”… get a grip!
Princess Nikki – Get a bloody job
What is the world coming to? I was sat watching the box the other night when I was confronted by that whinging, old-woman-faced, cry-baby from Big Brother 7 – Nikki Grahame. What a cretin that girl is!
From the moment she swaggered onto the set, she thought she was a cut about the rest of the people who were trying to show her how to do a normal days work. Of course, she wouldnt know work if it jumped up and slapped her round that miserable face of hers. These people are the people that work hard to provide for their families and to keep the wolf from the door. And in walks a swaggering, “im better than you”, whining, childish, disrespectful celebrity wannabee and basically pulls them to pieces because she is an idle, scrounging swine.
Are prisons too pleasant to be a deterrent?
Something that has always troubled me in recent years is the prison system. Hopefully, I will never have the pleasure of visiting such an establishment but if I did, then it wouldnt be the end of the world to me. Why is this?
