Now I like to think of myself as a fairly level headed kind of chap, very logical and not given to flights of fancy, but the relentless drip of Government and Council incompetence and insanity has lead me to a fairly startling conclusion; the powers that be, have no less a plan than the total destruction of our great nation!
How do I come to this colossal presumption?
I used the ‘scientific method’. The scientific method is the cornerstone of all science: it roughly states that one should observe all empirical data and from it, make a carefully calculated postulate. One then proceeds with that working postulate actively watching for disproval; until which time, the postulate remains valid. Using my working postulate, the Government and Councils have done nothing at all to disprove it…indeed they merely reinforce it.
Before proceeding with today’s missive illustrating another example of incredible and unimaginable lunacy, I must define the term gerrymandering, for the benefit of those too young to have witnessed it firsthand. Back in the late 60’s during the Irish troubles; the Protestants (who ruled the city Councils), in an attempt to reduce Catholic candidates gaining primacy at elections in overwhelmingly Catholic populated Wards, shifted the Ward boundaries so that the Catholic Wards were split up and absorbed into overwhelmingly Protestant areas, thus diluting their electorate.
But now onwards: Firstly, according to reports, certain departments of the Civil Service are ‘dumming down’. Whereas previously the minimum entry criterion was at least 5 GCSE’s; workers are now being taken on without a single one (explains the abysmal levels of service and the scarcely cognizant morons that you speak to on the phones). Notably these large Departments are located in areas of otherwise high unemployment and social deprivation e.g. Tyne and Wear.
Secondly: According to papers released by The Home Office last night, all Brits will be treated as potential illegal immigrants when applying for jobs, by having to produce their Passports as proof of residential status…this will be done so as ‘not to discriminate against foreign workers’. Additionally and even more insanely…employers are not to engage in the discriminatory practice of…wait for it…’insisting that workers be able to speak fluent English’.
Now my initial reaction was that it was a ploy to enable George W Bush to gain meaningful employment in the UK…after all, he is barely able to string two sentences together coherently or grammatically…but then I understood their plan.
Fill the country with waves of immigrants grateful to the Government who let them in, or dependent on the Government for welfare payments: then fill the ever expanding (but non-productive) public sector with Government dependant employees and they will have gerrymandered themselves a grateful and dependent electorate who will never go against the hand that feeds them.
Now at this stage I want to halt and bring you a timely caveat: it would be easy to go off in a rage of righteous anger at the ‘immigrants who are wrecking the country’. There is genuinely a clear case for CONTROLLED immigration and indeed, immigrants saved our nation on at least three occasions (see my article dated 7th Nov 2007) but let me ask you two questions:
- If you offer a free lunch…can you blame the taker?
- If we had signs at our ports of entry saying something like: ‘Any persons entering the country, do so on the basis that they will abide by the law, work gainfully, pay all due taxes, not scrounge from the state and further, will learn English and attempt to integrate with us…otherwise can bugger off’, we wouldn’t have an immigrant problem!
Yes, there is clearly reason for anger and frustration…but aimed at the Government and Councils whose policies were clearly thought up by people in the midst of some sort of imbecilic dementia and which clearly propagate the dissolution of our land.
One final thought…as I’m introducing old phrases today, such as gerrymandering; let me introduce one more…Tyburn Hill (look it up if you don’t know). Tyburn Hill is clearly where the perpetrators of incompetence and institutionalised mis-deeds against our land need to be sent!
